I thought I had thanked you for that note,...John--

I thought I had thanked you for that note, but perhaps not! From one Tellarite/fan to another, I do appreciate it. It was a rare occasion when I could still have a "fanboy moment" ! And just glad it got resurrected. I did meet Kevin when they fitted the prosthetics here in LA, and then Jimmy did such a great job in the chair. In fact, I would have been in that scene with you for TSAMD had my schedule allowed it in time, but I missed it by a few days. But with the extra Tellarite pieces still around, James indulged me! They wrote the spy in the Klingon vignette shoot as a Tellarite...and then I got to name him Grolst (ha!). :-)

LarryLarry Nemecekhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08327849137328659161noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1123408535729992886.post-76846939718824525152012-01-05T16:09:26.277-08:002012-01-05T16:09:26.277-08:00I'd heard recently that this vignette had been...I'd heard recently that this vignette had been released. From one Tellarite to another, greetings, you ugly pig! [grin]

I had a brief cameo as one of the Tellarite ambassadors in the corridor in To Serve All My Days, and I've been playing the Tellarite Dr. Henglaar on various Hidden Frontier productions for about ten years now.

As an amateur makeup artist, it was an honor to have Kevin Haney and one of his apprentices apply my makeup, and I also got to chat with Mr. Haney during some of the lulls in shooting.

Congratulations on your role in the vignette. It sounds like you had a lot of fun.

John WhitingThalekhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10735343694559199568noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1123408535729992886.post-75564790887369847932011-12-27T12:08:36.789-08:002011-12-27T12:08:36.789-08:00Larry that was off the hook, I truly enjoyed the e...Larry that was off the hook, I truly enjoyed the episode and will be keeping watch as further adventures face the intrepid crew of the Enterprise. I was thrilled to have a chance to head-up effects on this film, and I must also give thanks to the great Tobias Richter, owner of The Light Works, for giving me some critical help on some of the VFX elements in this film.

Just FYI, that pretty forest matte painting I created for the campfire shot is actually on a small plot of property I own (hopefully won't get foreclosed) in the Tehachapi Mountains, at 6,200 feet elevation. Someday I hope to build my dream cabin up there. That shot angle is about what my kitchen window view would be!Pony R. Hortonnoreply@blogger.com
